Good 2nd gen headers with SBC

Need opinions on who makes a good header for 2nd gen SBC powered cars. In particular, a SBC powered 1979 Trans Am. I've used Hookers and Hedmans in the past and have liked them but I'm wondering who else is out there. First hand experience knowing the headers will fit is always a plus. Need 1-3/4" primaries. Stainless would be a nice option but not a necessity.

      Thanks
      Trey

Although I have no firsthand experience (I use Hookers), I hear that Dynatech makes a pretty good product. I know they seem to fit the 4th gens well.

Good call on the Dynatechs. I've put them on 4th gens and they were nice. Never done them on a 2nd gen. Might need to look into that more.

      Thanks guys

I have the dynattechs on my 2nd gen With a sbc I have a 1970 here is a pic. I have had hookers, and headman. I bought the headers with the four bolt collectors alot better then the standard three bolt. Never have to replace that damn collector gasket.

How is the clearance between the header and the oil pan? I have a Moroso road race pan and an 81 Camaro. It has the lower control arm braces, if that affects the headers. I'm also looking for 1-3/4 (or 1-7/8 if they fit better) headers. Edit: the pan wings stick out just under 4-1/2" from the side of the pan
