      Anvil CF Cowl

Just got my CF cowl with vent delete. First mock-up looks good. It's so nice, I'm almost re-thinking painting over it...

Fits nice, might look good with a CF hood, Can it be left bare with out paint?

Yeah, it's making me rethink going the full CF treatment...LOL! According to Anvil, they can be left bare, partially painted, clear coated, etc. As you might see from the pics, it comes with a pretty nice UV coating.

Looks great, I wonder how much weight you could shave off going the full CF treatment on a 1st Gen.

Looks very nice. I think it would go great with the carbon cowl hood. This my plan for my, to be, very bright green camaro. Carbon fiber black looks really nice next to greens. My car is being painted with the stock (aftermarket) hood and such in place. I just have to hope the carbon peices fit in with the final gaps and fitment when it is finally time ($) to purchase them. I know Anvil does great work.

What will the color of your present project be?

The major part of it would be the hood. The shipping weight of my steel cowl was 60 lbs. If I recall correctly, the same CF hood from Anvil weighs 14 lbs. That's close to a 77% reduction. I'm sure you'd see comparable gains on the other pieces.

Thanks guys, I think the CF is less than half the weight, so the savings can be significant. The cowl weighs about two pounds. Felt like the box was empty!

Current color is a red pearl metallic. Still narrowing down exact choice. Can't wait to see a 2010 red jewel tint camaro. That may be the color... Build thread has been slow, but check it out at: https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=44007
