Rag joint disassembly

The rag joint on my 65 needed replaced - the bolt holes that attach to the column had torn and I didn't trust it at all.

Found somewhere on the net that described removing the old one (said you have to cut it off) and somewhere else that had warnings about using regular bolts to put the new one together (recommended using proper shouldered bolts, which the "Help" brand rag joint appears to).

I have cut the rag joint off and I had thought that the remaining parts of the bolts/rivets would press out but it doesn't look like that's the case.



Umm. How do I get this apart, or did I screw up already by cutting it apart?

I'd get a whole new assembly.

Replace with u-joint?
