Radiator support crossbracing-how important?

I started installing my A/C condenser the other day and one of the braces in the radiator support is going to interfere with the dryer.
I contacted the company, and the vehicle they used for prototyping didn't have these crossbraces.



The car is a 1978 Camaro, and the braces are basically just a couple of rods that are bolted in diagonally across the opening of the radiator support.
How important are these braces?

IMO not important at all. If the side braces are stiff enough, they dont flex fore and aft if leaned on then the cross braces are not needed. The key is if the vertical side mounts are stiff enough. I made some from 2" x 1" tubing, the vertical arms. They dont budge. So the radiator wont move (important) and it looks clean... I used some 1/8 stainless rod top and bottom to lock in the electric fan. Kinda difficult to weld the 1/8" rod to make it secure, TIG welded.. post pics if you want.. JR

I'm having trouble following you, I guess pictures would help.
These don't do anything front to back, it's just side to side.

If I remove one of the braces does anyone think it might cause more problems than if I took both out?
