      I guess he wasn't a very bright spark...

      Pity about his current situation...

      The atmosphere was totally electric...

      I guess he is feeling pretty wired at this point...

      He is didn't want to keep soldering on...

      He didn't get off at the right connection...

      He didn't have adequate training to cope with the situation...

      I guess he got a little off track...

      He went a little off the rails...

      Resistance was futile...
