Would adding Damplifier Pro on top the Lizard skin reduce vibration even more? Or would I get more bang for my dollar with say Luxury Liner pro for noise reduction in combination with the Lizard Skin?

If I am looking to reduce both vibration, heat and outside noise to a minimum what would you recommend on older cars like 1st Gen Camaros?

      Thanks!

      Hey Ed
Remember, that the lizard Skin ceramic coating is not a vibration damper or a noise barrier.
If you are going to treat your doors, first apply a layer of Damplifier Pro vibration mat, then if you want, add a layer of the LS ceramix coting on top of that. This will gdo great for noise and heat.
The Luxury Liner Pro is just too heavy for inside doors.

APplying th Damplifier Pro over the LS will only trap water, and promote rust. It will do nothing for vibration control. Esentially, what you are doing, is just treating the vibration in the lizards skin, not in the doors sheet metal.
So, Damplifier Pro, the Lizard skin when noise and heat is an issue (or you can use our ceramic/galss coating Firewall)

      Hope that helps

Just make sure you use the right tool for the job. It doesn't have to be Second Skin. There are lots of good product out there.
I know ours inside and out so that is what I am comfortable talking about. Plus I profit from it, so I am a bit biased anyway. AS long as you are comfortable with the product, the price and the results, that is all that matters.

BedLiner is a great option when not using any carpet because it will provide a very strong level or protection. It will do very little for vibration damperin and heat reduction compared to real dampers and barriers though, so it is always good to use the Bed liner as your last layer.

I know it is a different beast, but most of our off raod guys go with Damplifier Pro on the inside of the cab, then follow up with a bed liner on top of that (we sell a DIY Bed liner that is very strong)
The underside of the vehicle gets treated with Spectrum (noise coating) or Firewall (ceramic/glass heat coating)

You might want to consider doing something similar to this in your Roadster. The noise and heat results are awesome!

There are only a few roducts I Am able to discount without stepping on the toes of our dealers though.

      Spectrum
      Firewall
      Damplifier
      Heat wave Pro
      Luxury Liner Pro

      That is the full list.

In order of my priorities are,

      1. low weight

      2. sound control

      3. temp control

      What would be best?
Well, the best will require the use of a vibration damper, and a barrier.
The lightest ones that we offer are
      Damplifier Lite
      Heat Wave

one layer of each will add about .50 lbs per sq foot.
You might end up adding about 35 lbs by the time you are done:

      60 sq feet Damplifier Lite
5 Sheets (45 sq feet) Heat Wave
      1 can adhesive
      1 small roll foil tape

That is a very light and effective combinations.

Again, there are lots of quality companies out there that have good products so I suggest looking around. I happen to be the only vendor on this forum that is representing an insulation company, but I am sure you can google up all kinds of good ones.

I have a roll of stuff I thought I got from second skin sitting in my garage. I'll look at it again when I get home.

--EDIT: Ok I was wrong. It's not from Second Skin and must be crap.

I've been rethinking my bedliner idea. Maybe a small amount of creature comfort isn't a bad thing! My new thought is to spray some of your heat and sound product inside and out (firewall & floor), add a layer of damplifer to the foot wells covered by carpet and just do my odd shaped tranny tunnel in a bedliner product. Can I use standard auto refinish products over your stuff? Will your Deadliner be tintable? Thanks!

I just got some Luxury Liner Pro to go over the Spectrum I sprayed on and I gotto say, man is that stuff thick! I bought 2 sheets to do the firewall to start and was surprised to see how thick the Luxury Liner Pro actually is.

I also bought a can of the spray adhesive but does anybody have any tips on the best way to lay this stuff down?

If you are going to use a combination of Damplifier Pro and the coatings, use the mats first, then spray or paint the liquids on top. Otherwise you run the risk of trapping moisture under the Damplifier and promoting rust. If the heat coatings are not allowed to cure, they will not work, and will cause problems. And, since they can be applied at any stage of the game, it is always best to use your vibration mats first since they HAVE TO connect to the metal in order to work.

Our deadeliner will not be tintable. Only black right now.

      Hope that helps

Be sure you want 30 days for Spectrum to cure before applying the Luxury Liner Pro on top of it.
With the spray adhesive, spary a thick coat on the foam side of Luxury Liner Pro, then spray the top of the cured Spectrum coating.
Allow 90 seconds to pass then stick the 2 sticky sides together.
Seal the seems and edges with the foil tape and you are good to go.

my application is a truck. ANT, weight and noise reduction are my biggest priorities. is the most noise transmitted through the floor? i'm pretty sure that's the case, so would i be safe in getting damplifier/damplifier pro for just the floor, and damplifier lite for my rear wall, ceiling, and doors? do doors transmit as much noise as the floor? any input would be appreciate, thank you sir.

Remeber that our Damplifier products are all vibration dampers and will only adress structure borne noise. They will not work on airborne noise. For that, you need a barrier.
If youa re going to use a damper, our best is Damplifier Pro but our lightest is Damplifier Lite.
My suggestion is to split the difference and go with all damplifier through out the entire cab.
THen apply a layer of a noise barrier on the floor and firewall of the cabin.
Luxury Liner Pro is our best one, but Heat Wave is our lightest.

Do you have a weight limit?

How clean does the metal have to be for deadeners like second skin or dynamat to adhere?

I want to put some in my first gen Camaro because the stuff that was in there, felt type stuff, possibly factory deadener(?), had peeled away and was interfering with the rear window operation.

I'd like to go with second skin or dynamat while I have the panels off and carpet partially up, but don't know how much prep is involved before I can lay it down.

      Thanks,

      Robert

The cleaner the better, but most butyl products will adhere decently well to a contaminated surface.
Anything that comes between the contact point of the metal and the adhesive will interfere with the damping results, so try to get it clean as you can
