5 year project nearing completion

Another Vancouver BC guy here.
My car is a '67 'stang, that I have been working on for 5 years.

It's been highly modified, but in a stealthy way, kind of like, so it looks retro, but isn't really. The theme of the car is definitely in the canyon carver, highway cruiser theme.

Have been having ongoing issues with the engine and drive train.

1st the engine was running really hot. That is sort of under control.
Then I tackled the obnoxious engine noise, with bigger mufflers and custom made resonators,
now we are tackling an issue with the cam and lifters but hope to have that sorted out in the next few weeks.
Engine is 434 cu BBF switching now from a toploader to a TKO500 or 600 right about now.
Engine is running a bit warm, so I have a thicker aluminum rad to go in and replace the stock one, this week.

Car is lowered 1 1/2"
I spent 2 years in bodywork, block sanding for example, the underside of the raw fiberglass on the trunk and hood, so it looks as good as the outside.
Rear spoiler is raised 1" over the stock fiberglass and blocked and filled to match the body exactly.

Has a slight mini tub and the metal on the rear quarters was stretched 1 1/8" Right now I have 315/35/17 tucked up in the hole with no rubbing. I may be able to go to a 335, but waiting until I have rear discs before I decide.

I was hoping to have it in paint this summer, but it's going to be a real stretch budget wise.

I've been driving it around quite a bit. It's a real beast. I just got some 88 mustang GT seats and ordered upholstery to match exactly the vintage seats. My wife was complaining about her neck getting snapped back, when my right foot slipped ;)

It handles great for a vintage car, and should be a bit better now that I have dropped the front end another 1/2 -1"

Let me be the first to say that thats a good looking Stang (and thats coming from a chevy guy). I can appreciate hard work and a limited budget build as I am working with both. Keep it up and keep posting pics.

Funny how years back most of us were more loyal to one manufacturer. Nowadays, I like pretty much everything, especially if it's done well.

I know my son wants to do a Camaro, so with the dynacorn chassis, and the mini tub kits, it makes for an awesome setup.

Myself, I wouldn't mind doing a rat rod after this

Kewl & neat project ....... run it around in primer for a while so you don't have to redo it in the end.
