      Project OCD

Hey everyone. Long time, first time. I'm redoing my 67 Camaro and thought I'd share some pics with the crowd. The name OCD came from my wife and it fits perfect. I spend way too much time thinking about this car, the build etc. etc. so it just came out one day and stuck.

The car went in to repair a bubble in the 1/4 panel and has snowballed into a repaint and some custom touches. It's all being done at The PaintHouse in Cypress Texas. Randy is awesome and I'm sure some of you have seen his award winning Chevelle and other cars. www.painthousetx.com

      Changes -
      Exhaust cut outs
      Flush glass kit
Shaved door handles and drip rails
Anvil auto valance with no cutouts at cowl - trying to complete the slick look.
One black center stripe in matte finish

When finished it will be sent to Ronnie Mangus in LA to do a full interior.

The last pic is after color sand and polish of the body.

Yes, if the URL doesn't end in an image extension (.jpg, .gif, etc.) it doesn't look like vBulletin recognizes them as valid images. Try imageshack or photobucket or similar otherwise.

Love the color. The cut outs are well done but after seeing this on the one lap car I think it hurts the look a bit

It's PPG Patriot Red with a custom mix and candy put into the base rather than on top. Now called Candy Apple Reid (my last name)

I'm not familiar with the one lap car.

That is a sweet car, (the one lap)- just goes to show there are no fresh ideas, just good ones.. Anyway I doubt I'll be bumping into him, or parked next to, in Houston at are street meets.

Updated Pics - grille, exhaust, flush mount glass, seat

Below are various pics. I'm not the best at updating or organizing this stuff. Car is almost ready for interior, the seats are being donw now and carpet, headliner, trunk, door panels hopefully next week. Hoping to make the Good Guys show in Dallas.

Do you have any bypass baffles in case the air filters get soaked...to prevent Hydro-lock?

It's managed to stay out of the rain except on one occasion. Any specifics on what you mean?

A intake bypass valve is a diaphragm that open up if your intake gets submerged or completely soaked, allowing air to enter further up the intake track. Not saying they are a necessity, but here are a couple hydrolock horror stories. Dont even know if it would work with an engine of your size. But your intakes are definitely out in the open. Gorgeous car though .

Those are the Glide engineering SS-2 seats http://www.glideengineering.com/univ...20bolster.html

A local trim shop wraped them up and I'm very happy with the outcome. They come with the foam, the only thing we had to do was bend out the bars to widen the bolsters in both the shoulders and legs. I have a 36-38 waist and broad sholders, now it fits well.

In the exhaust panel pass through- how are you supporting the inner pipe to keep it from rattling against the outer pipe?

      Exhaust hole

Ok this was tricky. I'll have to take off a wheel to show you but there is a flexible braided section by the leaf spring that allows for movement. Then two mounting tabs fixed to the pipe and car. Another flex point on the other side of the hump connected with a band clamp. All that to accomplish zero movement of the end pipe. It is fixed in place.

I am not a fabricator and did not do this so that's all I know. Pictures will tell all I'm sure. I'll work on getting those.

Taking for it's first drive tomorrow with that exhaust, need to find a barrier to drive next too!! no tunnells in North houston
