      1968 Chevelle

      Hi,

      I have a 1968 Chevelle with a 396.
The car is from New Mexico. The body, floor pans, and frame are all rust free and in good condition.
The car was built at the Fremont, California plant and spent its entire life in the SouthWest.

I'm doing a frame on restoration, but am dismantling quite a bit of the car as I restore it.
This will be the first restoration that I've ever done.

I have the interior completely gutted. I have painted the interior sheetmetal of the car...floor pans and the ceiling...with POR-15 to make sure that it remains rust free.
When the time comes, it is ready for a fresh installation of new interior.

I have removed the fenders, fender wells, front bumper, radiator, radiator support, steering column, steering shaft, steering box, and all of the front suspension, including coil springs and control arms.
I'm getting ready to remove the engine and transmission so I will have room to clean, sand, and paint the frame and firewall properly. That's where I'm at now.
Once everything is cleaned and painted, I plan on installing new front suspension and steering components and a disc brake conversion.

I'm also going to remove the body to frame bolts so I can jack the body up slightly and replace the body mount bushings.
While I have it jacked up, I plan on cleaning and painting the rest of the frame and undercarriage.

I was originally going to refurbish it back to stock condition, but have now decided to go with more of a Pro-Touring motiff for improved handling and driveability.

      Regards,
      -Greg
