Crate Engines
Just messing around with a little research for a project a couple of years off. What are some good crate engine manufacturors? Chevy. I know of speedomotive.com.
I'm going to be looking for an engine that will make around 450-500hp and 475-600lbft of torque (SB on the lower end, BB on the higher). I would like to supercharge it with a vortech or procharger and run a mild boost for a total of 600-700hp and 700-750+lbft.
The car is going to hopefully be a 69ish Corvette. I want to build it for cruising/semi-daily driving. I'm definately going to take it to the strip a couple of times, and hopefully autocross/road racing if I can start to learn soon.
I would probably look for a carburated engine, as FI will start to hurt my budget (which should be moderately generous if I can make some money now and get a nice job out of college).
Thanks for listening to my rambling.1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme
