      One wire alternator overcharging battery

      One wire alternator overcharging.

I have tried two different powermaster alts and have a brand new battery, checked all connections/ grounds etc and still sending 17v to the battery. Any ideas here? thanks

check your voltage regualtor, but alternator should only put out 14-15v max

not running external regulator. Looking for open short or perhaps bad headlight relay etc. Thanks for the reply!

even one wire alternators have voltage regulators internaly
Bad voltage regulator or a short in the alternator could cause this easily.
Really should do a 3 wire alt
but you did what you did for a reason
