hot start with remote solenoid

I have my battery in the trunk with the remote solenoid kit. When the engine is really it hot it will barely crank over, not enough to start the engine. I checked my grounds, they are good.

Never had this problem before. The remote solenoid is old. I'm running out of ideas

use a volt meter, set it on 20v and start at positive post with one lead and then keep working fromt connection to connection like from post to terminal, terminal to wire and so one, it should stay very low as in less than .5volts, any higher and you have found issue.
