      Street Lite 17"

How strong is the new Billet Specialties (Street Lite 17) wheels? Would these hold up to auto-x and track days? The product info said rotary forged and spun rim half. I've seen ultra light wheels bend easily because they were too light under auto-x situations. This set of wheels will probably have d.o.t. race tires, Hoosier or Kumho, and will go on a 70 Chevelle w/ DSE suspension.

i just saw these wheels in person today on a mustang. really nice wheels. if they made them in 18" i'd be all over them.

i haven't seen any other failures such as this, but the following thread deserves a look. http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/bra...ecialties.html

That failure is odd to say the least. They have passed all the sfi certification tests (the 15" that is). The 17" probably don't have the strength as the 15's, could be why they are not sfi certified.
