Yoke swap
I had a 8.5 73 nova rear reworked to put in my 68 camaro, can I swap the yoke from the origonal 8.2 insted of cutting the drive shaft? The shaft is new and came with my tko 600 really hate to cut it.

05-09-2009 #2The 8.2 yoke has 25 splines and the 8.5 yoke has 30 splines. You can't swap them. Your 8.5 should have the 1310 yoke and your drive shaft might work fine with it.

Thanks for the response but the Drive shaft appears about an inch to long so it looks like I have the long yoke. Any idea on what a short yoke cost verses having a drive shaft shortened?
05-09-2009 #4If you have the 1310 yoke then your only option is to have the drive shaft cut. If you have the 3R yoke then you can swap the yoke from an early '70s Camaro.
