      Need tuning advice

Running 670 street avenger on mild 350. Roller cam, vortec heads 700r4 trans, stock stall. I have a slight hesitation that occurs in only one situation. From a dead stop under any amount of throttle, its perfect. While cruising down the road at steady speed or coasting, there is a slight hesitation when you step on the peddle. If you ease on the gas it is not noticeable. The more aggresive you are with the pedal, the worse it gets. I have replaced the acc pump squirter with a larger size. Off idle response was noticeably improved, but the cruise hesitation is still there. Do I step up again on the squirter? Different power valve? Any help is appreciated.

Might try a stiffer secondary spring. Could be they're opening too quickly.

Your transition circuit sounds a bit lean so try jetting up 2 sizes in the front and open the idle mix screws 1/8 to 1/4 turns and test.

thanks shaker- I'll give it a shot. A 1/4 turn does seem to help slightly, but it seems rich by smell. The plugs show its running a little on the lan side.

Good call Scott by looking at the plugs....they should have a light coffee color.

If they look lean it's beacuse they are and the rich smell is the piston burning falsing you out.

What size PV do you have and how much vac are you pulling at idle in and out of gear?
