      Hero Camera alternative?

      Hero Camera alternative?

I have a Hero can and I think it's great but the audio is near useless.

Anyone ever try one of these?

My contingency plan is to have a dedicated mic into a good voice recorder

The thing about the GoPro is the wide angle of the lens... the link you posted does not seem to have near the field of view. I've used the GoPros and Oregon Scientifics.. the Oregon has better audio, but again, it's a narrow-view.

The audio in the GoPro isn't that great, but not completely useless.. here's an in-car shot we just posted, and the audio is there, but its not that great. But recording 2600 HP is not easy on any camera..

The trick on an external mic and seperate recorder is the ability to set the mic level so you don't just blow it out.
