04-30-2009 #2fuel injection?
Example (If I'm correct with my numbers ---LOL)
A 255lph pump is 67gph (1gal = 3.78liters)
67gph * 6lbs per gal/fuel = 402lb/hr
402lb/hr / .5bsfc = 800hp
402lb/hr / .6bsfc = 670hp
.5 bsfc = n/a engine
.6 bsfc = boosted
I see these pumps rated from 500-700hp depending on where you look. Either way---it's more then enough to support 425hp.Ron DeRaad

04-30-2009 #5I found this which helps calculate the pump better. Not a true 255 at 45psi. It will if you use it for a carb motor at 15psi.
57gph at 45psi will supply 215lbs/hr and 430hp at .5 bsfc. A normally aspirated engine will typically be closer to .45bsfc. (477hp)
I think the 500hp max number would be more accurate for a Walboro 255 pump. The HP unit is the better of the two. This is with 12v so it should pump a little more at 13-14v.
