      Firewall Smoothing and Fender Fit

I put a DSE firewall panel on my '68 Camaro. All smoothed, painted and ready to go, maybe...

The DSE panel effectively "moved" the firewall fender mount forward by a fraction of an inch, maybe 1/8" probably a little bit less. No big deal except that that little change translates directly into moving the pass side fender forward by the same amount.

My door gaps are perfect at the 1/4panel and rocker, but the gap between the door leading edge and fender is way wide.

Anybody else run into this? Suggested fixes?

      many thanks,

      John

Relocate the tab on the fender an 1/8 forward.

John I'm in the middle of the firewall process too and happen to see this thread which tipped me off to this possabillety. Thanks to your question I trimmed my panel.

I thought about what if? What about trimming the back side of the top bracket?
