      9" info

I am looking into buying a 9" rear for my car. I have found a couple but they are all set up for leaf springs. My question is this: Are all 9" housing made of steel or cast iron? I have heard both. I need to weld on some coil spring cups and control arm brackets. Anyone have experiance with this??

All housing's are comprised of steel... from 1010 all the way up to 4130 material.

The "third member" is comprised of cast or nodular iron... or aluminum.

If you weld anything to the housing... the housing will need to be straightened... or at a very minimum, checked for straightness when you are done welding.

You might be able to get them from Currie. Moser doesn't sell them seperate. I sent a reply to your PM.
