      Please help!!!!

      Hey guys,

I need some opinions before I completely tear down my car. I'm working on my 65 GTO clone and am up in the air with what the end result should be. I know, I know it depends on how deep your pockets are and how much money you're willing to spend but I just want to consider a few options before moving the project in a certain direction.

The car currently has a 421 cui with an auto and a 10 bolt. The car will ultimately be a street car with only a few trips to the dragstrip and I do want the "drive it anywhere" comfort. I want to do a bit of a PT restomod thing with braking and handling. I was considering an aftermarket frame or maybe narrowing and beefing up the rear frame to fit 315's. The drivetrain itself is completely flexible. The only thing I am sure of is that I want to use a factory console (manual or auto) to maintain a more stock appearance. I've considered an LS2 swap........ I've considered using the 421 wiith EFI (and maybe a turbo)......... I've considered a Butler performance crate......I do want a decent amount of power (500 - 700 HP)....... ..I've considered a Tremec 600 5spd tranny instead of a T56 because of the tunnel cutting issues. Depending on the auto tranny I may have to cut the floor as well.

I sorry if my post is rambling and disorganized but these are the crazy thoughts that are bouncing around my thick skull.

      THANKS for your input

See my PM, but know that if you want fat tires on all four corners and a low stance, you'll be cutting into the floorpans and wheel wells anyway. If you want a cage that'll pass any kind of tech inspection, it'll have to be welded to the frame- more floorpan surgery required.

Agreed. But if you don't want to go that far I can put you in touch with this guy:

He drives it all over the country. Tubular control arms, six speed manual, 455 with aluminum heads. A very nice compromise between pro-touring and resto-mod.
