      Engine Paint

I'm thinking about painting my engine block the same color as my car (House of Color - Sunset Pearl), will I be able to use this paint on the engine w/o having to worry about the paint and clear coat peeling off due to heat? Any advise?

You wont have a problem. Ive been using standard oil based paint for years, after I got this advice from an old mechanic that had been building engines since the 1930's.
Look, any oil base paint will survive just fine to about 400 degrees F. Is your engine going to see 400 degrees? I sincerly hope not.

Just clean clean clean, prime with good epoxy can primer and treat it like car body, I have had issues using body primer EXCEPT epoxy primer, and most body shops hate letting an engine in booth.if you can get it done go for it and use high solids clear for more protection.

no problem. have been doing this for about 15 years.just as some one else has already stated prep is the key to any durable paint job.clean and scuff. don't let you epoxy primer sit to long befor top coating. or you will have to scuff all over again.same with the base color.needs to be cleared within 24 hrs.good luck
