Whats up guys, I am looking to run a 18/20 combo with stock wheel tubs. I would like to run a 20x12 rear rim with either a 40 or 35 series tire. What is the widdest tire I can run with any rubbing issues. Thanks

I think a 20x12 is too wide without mods. I'm running a 305/45/18 on an 18x10 rim and had to roll the lips and "message" the wells to make it work...I think you could do a 305/35/20 on a 20x10 but will need to do tubs if you want any bigger then that.

I've seen guys do 325/50/15s on a 15x10 but it doesn't sit low like a 20 would. The more you drop it down the less room you have.

Joe, what's your backspacing? I want to run 295/45/17 on my 69 Cutlass, with a 9.5 rim. Trying to avoid any body work...

Not sure about your wheel wells since I've only worked with 70 to 72s but my 18x10s are 5.5 BS. On my car a 295/45/17 would fit with no problems as long as it was centered correctly. Just make sure you measure a few times. A 9.5 rim would help even more. Just adjust the BS accordingly.

With a 20" the 305 gets too be a little too tall so you are better off running a 295 or 285 if you want to avoid any extra body work. We have several wheel lines we can build to fit, and are dealers for almost every tire brand under the sun, give us a call, and we can help. We know those A bodies real well!
