      vortec install

As usual, the more I read the more I am confused. For instance, I was told the vortec block (the one I'm looking at is out of a 97 pickup and is a vortec)had no provision for a mechanical fuel pump but when I look at pictures online it looks like there is. I'm trying to figure out everything I need to do to install one in my 68 firebird. I know I'll need an intake, distributor with brass cam gear, and a carb. Do I need new mounts or are they the same. Anything anyone could tell me would be appreciated.
