      Starting issues

I have a 68 mustang coupe with a 302. When it has been sitting for about an hour it cranks with no problem and starts. If I run it for a while then turn it off then promptly try to start it, it turns over very sluggishly till it finally starts. I've been thinking its the starter but i've also heard that it could be a worn coil and also the starter solenoid absorbing heat. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
      Thanks

I am not a Ford guy but I think it would have a remote solinoid so that is not it. Sounds like a heat issue anyway, possibly with wiring. Start with going through all charging system connections for loose, corrosion etc and make sure nothing looks burnt along the wires. Good luck.

Get some new battery cables first. Odds are good you need them anyway, and it might be all that's wrong.

Yup, check your wiring and grounds. Also if you have headers running close to your starter, heat wrap helps. If you dont already have a remote solenoid thats a must. A worn coil wont make it crank slowly.
