      Non DSE mini tub question

I have just finished installing a new one piece floor and tunk pan in my 69 Camaro. I would really like to mini tub the car but I would like to just create my own tubs that fit tight to the existing rear frame rail. I can not bring myself to cut the factory frame rails.

So my question is this: Is this mod worth the effort to gain the additional 1 1/2 to 2 of space? I am guessing that this will be the max allowed just by measuring the factory tub to frame rail space. I am not opposed to relocating the springs and perches as my 12 bolt has no perches now.

      I appreciate any input!

That is a very hard question to answer. Is it worth it to you to widen it? It was worth it to me to do it. What is your adversion to cutting the frame rail? It would be very hard to convert back to stock width if the car is modified the way you are talking about.

Would it make more sense just to go ahead and go the full DSE route? Any comparisons between the two?

      Thanks again.

If I was planning on mini-tubbing, I would go the DSE route. Saves ALOT of time and looks stock from inside of trunk.
