Floor pan questions

Hey guys whats up. I have a car that needs a lot of work and I am broke who's with me? Anyway, here is a pic of my drivers floor pan. I am going to por 15 the rest of the floor since it's not all that bad. On this section should I just get a piece of scrap and weld in or is this big enough to put in a drivers front pan? It will probably end up getting a whole new floor someday since it was hit pretty hard in a previous life and it's got some rust. For right now though the objective is to get it driveable. Also what is a decent little mig welder that isn't too expensive?
