      Unisteer Issues

I installed the Unisteer Rack and pinion system in my 1st gen last winter, will not stay in toe. Caster/ camber stays fine, ball joints are good, tie rod ends are tight..........but every 500 miles or so the toe goes either out or in. After 3000 miles last summer the score is three sets of Pilot Sports, no fun. Took a while to realize it was the car and not the alignment techs. has anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

You should be able to feel slop in the rack and pinion. You need to jack up the car on the control arm and see if in fact your slop is in the rack itself. What about how it's mounted? Pretty standard for an alignment guy to feel for slop in the steering and ball joints but......

Mine has about 7K on it now. Autocrossed, drag raced and ran cross country. No issues. I agree to contact Unisteer.

Sorry sometimes takes me a while to find time to get on line. No closer yet to a solution, Unisteer so far has no ideas either. I'm thinking that the steering arms that came with the kit may be deflecting so next time we align we will measure backspacing to rotors and if/ when it goes out again we will have something to measure. Will come back and report......
