      Hydraulic Clutch Questions

I am putting a Speedtech subframe (designed for Camaros) in my Firebird and the engine location within the subframe is going to mess with the clutch/z-bar alignment. Instead of dealing with that, I figured a hydraulic clutch may be a better way to go.

      I have a TKO600.

Anyone using a hydraulic? I know that Keiser and Classic Chevy 5 Speed both offer kits. How hard is it to setup and what issues do I need to watch out for?

Tilton makes hydraulic throwout bearings that replace the bearing retainer on the transmission. They work pretty well. I've used them with Ford and Chevy transmissions and different clutch types. There are other options out there too.

I put together a system myself for my TKO using a Macloed bearing with a willwood compact master. It isn't on the road yet but I have moved it in and out of the garage a few times and everything seems to work very well. I bought an adjustable firewall mount from american powertrain to mount teh master on teh right angle to match the pedal. Thsi si on a '69 chevelle.
