Hot Hues Hot Rod Black ?

Looking for a little feedback. a potential customer came to me with a Harley the other day and asked me to paint his bike in flat black. I went to my paint supplier and he recommended Hot Hues Hot Rod Black and the Matte Clear. so I decided to do a little research on the product. the technical manual states that it's a single stage paint and nowhere states that it needs to be cleared with any kind of clear. my supplier assures me that it needs to be cleared. while I do use DuPont religiously, I have never used any of the Hot Hues products. can anyone please enlighten me.

they are probably recommending you clear it for UV protection. i have used hot hues-green xtreme, but obviously did clear it.

Spies Hecker Ralley Mat Black is the best for this I think. The Hot Hues and the Kustom stuff is fine, but the only problem I have seen is that you have to be careful washing it. It likes to scratch, spider web, and spot if you are not real careful. both of those products like to turn a little white (bleach out) after a few years in the sun. The Spies Hecker Ralley Mat is hard as nails. As a matter of fact you can polish it with a buffer to clean it up and it will not get shiny.
