      Motor Color

I am torn between 3 different color for the motor in my car.. The motor will look just like this other then it will be a 496 with bowties on the valve covers, not a 572..

The Color I am thinking are..
1.Color of the Car: Clousinne Blue(1996 Corvette GS)
      2.Chevrolet Engine Orange(Hugger Orange)
      3.A Silver Color

      What do yall think??

Also, here is the color the car is going..

That is what I have been leaning towards, but everybody says that it is to 90's.. I tell them that there is very little paint being put on. The Heads, Timing Chain Cover, Intake, Water Pump and thermostat housing are all Aluminum.. The Engine Bay will also be Semi Flat Black with a Be Cool Rad and Electric Fans.. The only things that would be Blue would be the Block, Valve Covers and Spark Plug Wires.. I like the Orange, it has been my color of choice since day one and the silver just looks good.. :D

I like the chevy orange just to make the motor "pop" a little. And since there will be plenty of aluminum, the orange wont be overpowering.
I am not useless, I can still be used as a bad example!

      I like that blue!

But I would go with the cast/silver look for the block IMO. If your engine bay is going to be satin black, I would stick with the "industrial" look. Kind of the less is more look. If you paint your block silver, you can always do the valve covers in blue this year and swap them out for a different color/finish next year. Keeping the block cast/silver leaves your options wide open for your future changes without yanking the motor out to repaint.

On a side note: If I were to tear my engine back apart, I would get my cast parts like my intake manifold and water pump thermo coated clear. Just a lot easier to up keep. Especially if the car is going to be a daily driver or see a lot of miles.

X2 Silver would complement the blue. I think a blue engine would just get lost in the sea of blue.

If you were completely "smoothing" the engine compartment, filling all holes, etc, then I'd go body color. But if you're not doing that but will have a very clean black semi-gloss, I'd go with the chevy orange.

No matter what I'm sure it'll be nice.

The Only things that will be on the firewall will be the Booster, wiper motor, A/C and Heat Lines( getting a bulkhead from Vintage Air)..

Its not your blue but here are some pics of my motor. The color seems close and its from a 2001 Acura. What color will the engine bay be?

I used the blue because it was the same as the body color but it also stood out against the pearl white engine bay.

Yeah you can have to much blue, if the firewall is blue use a different color on the block.

I voted silver, but I'd actually go with more of a cast-iron gray personally.

My Chevelle is the exact same color, and I did the engine, firewall, and inner fenders all blue... I hate it, too much blue. I can't wait to swap in my LS1. Going back to black on the inner fenders and firewall, and leaving the engine natural aluminum next time.
