      Chassis works subframe

Guys i have a chassis works 68 camaro subframe, it is one of the older ones that does not have a small modification for the tranny cross member. does anyone know if a tko will fit into this older subframe? i have emailed and pm chassisworks but have not gotten an answer. i want to get my frame powdercoated but i want to see if i need to alter the frame first. thanks

Not without moving the crossmember. you need to mock it up out of the car and make the adjustment.

Unless if you want to take care of it after it's coated.

      There are no stupid ?s
Just mock it up like Frank said an you should be able to see what you need.
Its always a good idea to do all the fab stuff before you paint or power coat.
      Hope this helps

Your probably going to be moving the crossmember a few inches.

Since I don't know what motor you’re running I can only assume it's an LS style engine and so now the older Sub-frame with the single location transmission x-member tab is an issue.

You can order the newer multiple location Trans x-member tabs, Chassisworks (#230214), lay it on the old tab and mark the location and weld on the new tabs.

Use this tab with the Chassisworks billet aluminum LS motor mounts (6007-X) and the only thing left to work out is which Chassisworks transmission cross member you need, based on which Tremec you’re using, and it is a bolt-in deal. Call Mike Weddle at Chassisworks extension #221 and he can help with the cross member application.

This set up requires no modification to either firewall or transmission tunnel.
