Wheel offset help
I currently have 18x7 front wheels with 4.25 offset. They rub just slightly and I am looking at 18x8 with a 5.25 backspacing. I am am moron I guess but what will the outside lip of the wheel do with the 18x8s?? will it move in .5??

Usually with 8s we only do a 4.75 BS, but your already way over that 3.25 front space with only a 2.75 front space on your current set up. Where do you rub? outside or inside? You should not rub on the outside even a little with a 2.75 front space. On your alignment, how much negative camber do you have?

If you have to pull the wheel in that much, you will not clear a 8" wheels. You would need to add the one inch for extra width + the addtional 1/4" you need, you will have a backspace of 5.5" and there will not be enough room on the inside for that much BS.
