      New to Pro-Touring

I finally came to this site after. I have a '80 El Camino that I started many years ago. I installed an original Monte SS nose (with original GM parts, rear roll pan, the interior has a Camaro steering wheel, Monte SS dash with Toronado 6 way electric seats. The truck originally had a 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission, now it has a 305 v8 with 4 speed. My goal is to install LSx and 6 speed along with air ride suspension. Just found out about SC&C from reading on this site. I am really interested in the watts link. Can't wait for spring to start on my truck. After a while winter in WI starts to wear on you. Thanks for the great site!!!!

      El Camino

Brett, Welcome to the site. The El Camino is a great vehicle, is it a car or a truck? Much debate about this subject. I have owned a 78 SS as well as a 81 Royal Knight El Camino, both were great cars. Use it as a car or haul stuff like a truck, plus it can be made to perform very well.
Check out Herbs (Yelcamino) 66 El Camino on here, I saw it in action at RTTH IV, it is a very well put together machine plus it performed well in autocross and at the drags. Good Luck with your project.
