I painted my plastic armrest with Krylon Fusion plastic paint (rattle cans) and they came out great. Dries very fast. They are textured so it might hide any problems. Don't know how it looks on smooth plastic.

use a plastic primer like Bull Dog, you can get it a any paint supply store. I like to use a good quality auto paint. I have it mixed into rattle cans and Ive had better results than cheap paint.

The Krylon Fusion is an excellant paint for this as it was developed for use on plastic. I have used Dupont laquers and Krylon Fusion and had good results with both.
The key to good adhesion on plastic is getting it clean. Wash the parts in a hot water/TSP mix (tri-sodium-phosphate) to cut all of the grease and Armor-All. Scubbing the parts during the washing process with coarse Scoth-Brite eliminates the need for any sanding. Wipe the parts down with a wax and grease remover right before spraying. Keep the parts clean while painting and you should have nice job when done.
I warm the rattle cans in hot water for a couple of minutes before spraying to help the flow.
