      LS1 Oil Quantity?

I have the S&P notched pan and a 04 GTO dipstick and tube. 6 qts of oil in and it barely reads on the dipstick? It should take less than factory. Am I overlooking something?

Just guessing but I think you might need an F body dipstick and tube since the S&P pan is a modified F body pan.

I was thinking the same thing but the dipstick goes in the side of the block. The oil level should be the same height from the block regardless of sump size or placement, right? Does someone have the measurement from say the o-ring on the dipstick tube to the end of the dipstick with it installed? Or am I completely forgetting something?

Sounds like you need an F body dipstick according to this:

Sure does! Guess that plug was already punched out when I got it. Thanks for the help, makes a little more sense now!
