      Pinion bumper on First Gens

I know this is not a very technical question about drivetrains, but is there some trick to getting the over-pinion bumper installed on a first gen Camaro? I have tried everything from greasing it and whaling on it with a rubber mallet to no avail, anyone have a trick for this???

      Pinion snubber

Lube it with WD 40 and start one side and pust the rest in carefully with a small thin dull bladed screwdriver. That's how I'd do it. FRANK

I used some aeroquip hose lube (handy!) and ditto on the small screwdriver. Make sure it's dull.

Thanks, I will see if that works, I was hesitant about using a screwdriver for the obvious reason, but I will see if I can get this thing installed tonight.
