      Front Tire Size 65 GTO?

I am building a 65 GTO and I was wondering if anyone is running a 16" Wheel and if they can tell me what the Width and Offset is so they do not rub on the Front or Back?

Front should be around 4.75 on a 7 or 8" wheel. I've got a 4.75" BS 17x7 and I've got less than 1/4" clearance at the sway bar. Rear depends on wheel width, brakes, etc., but probably in the 4.75 to 5" range. You can get up to a 9.5 in the back but it's very tight. I run a conservative 225 front and a 255 rear, but you can do up to a 245/275 combo if you're dead-on with the wheels.

Check out the suspension forum on the PY boards. Some genius (me) compiled and posted a complete '64-5 tire wheel guide. Good luck.

I run 16 X 8 inch IROC Z wheels on my 65 cutlass. I have CCP 4 wheel disk and 2 inch drop spindles. Ran the same wheels when I had factory drums. The fronts (rear wheels on the IROC) have 5.5 bs and clear even with 2 inch drop spindles. The rears (fronts on IROC Z) are 4.75 bs and rubbed bad when installed on the front with the inner fenders. I have flattened the inner fender lip also to provide clearance. The 5.5 bs work fine on front and back but the 4.75 rubs bad when installed on the front. It is fine on the back. I run p225 R 60 tires which are fairly tall 26.62 dia. Hope this helps
