      Social D

Saw Social Distortion in concert last night. What a blast. Mike Ness and Co. are still going strong after 25 yrs. Not to mention he has always had some pretty sweet rides.

Must be nice. They canceled in Niagara Falls two weeks ago.

      Hope they actually reschedule.

Saw them here in Houston a few months back, great show. Most likely going to make a road trip up to Ok to see them again. He has had some neat cars, some of my friends have know him forever and have done some custom work for him and they told me to call next time and they would hook me up.

their latest album is pretty good. Highway 101 and Nickels and Dimes are two of my favorites. WS6, you will probably recognize their older stuff and not know it's that old. At the concert they started off with "Mommy's Little Monster" and the place went nuts. We were right up front but my wife only lasted half of the song before I had to literally pick her up and take her off to the side. It was good to see a packed house.

Wow...great to see some fans of Social D in here. One of my most cherished movies is my VHS copy of 'Another State Of Mind' when they went on tour with Youth Brigade in '82. The best part on there is when the went to the Dischord House in DC and Ian MacKaye and crew went onstage with no mike and they did the song 'Minor Threat' with the audience singing....awesome. I love Social D but Minor Threat is probably my favorite Band with 7-Seconds a close 2nd (no pun intended). Other favorites: Necros, SS Decontrol, Regan Youth, SOA (Henry Rollins first band), Negative Approach, Fear, Charged GBH, Black Flag, The Misfits. That's awesome, great to see some punks in here.

If you haven't had the chance and your a big Social D fan, check out 'Another State Of Mind'. BYO Records has it on DVD now. It's a must have for any old school punk.

I can't believe there are other punk rockers on this board!!! I was late getting to the venue so I missed it when they were in abq, but I saw mike outside and I was star struck. I'm pretty young (24) but I've gotten to see Jello B and DH Pellegro both play, TSOL, Subhumans, Agnostic front, as well as various members of the misfits, and danzig in different shows. Right now I'm getting pissed since all my old punk vinyl got ripped off; subhumans, dk, tsol, fear, gbh, blanks 77 etc etc....might as well get it on cd now.

Check out the Demonics, and the Mutilators, some great psychobilly.

dont overlook mike ness solo cds. not social d but "im in love with my car " sounds good turned up to eleven. " charmed life " is also worth cranking up.
not to go off topic but i always loved the band agent orange and recently found out they swapped members with sd a few times. a few great car songs " unsafe at any speed " is awesome

Trapin, I too own a copy of "Another State of Mind" and have been a punker since my High School days. (I am 36 now) Social D is great and Mike Ness's solo stuff is also incredible. I have seen SD/Mike Ness a bunch of times when they come thru Columbus. They always draw well playing at the Clubs on The Ohio State University campus. Another State of Mind is right up there with the Decline of Western Civilization...
