      rad leak?

my chevelle for some reason always looses its water/coolant in the rad. since this is a DD for me i have to put water in the car every mourning and every evening, leaving and coming home from the job. as soon as i put water in the rad a few seconds will past and the car is dry. is it something im not doing. perhaps a bolt not tighten etc. or do i need to buy a new radatior?

      thanks

Do you see anything leaking when you move the car? Perhaps or even under it?

Like said above, Is it constanly leaking or is it leaking and then stopping with coolant still in it at a certain level. If there is coolant still in it, and the car isn't running hot, some cars like there coolant at a certain level and will puke it untill there happy and no matter what they keep pukin it.

Once water is put in the rad it drains soon afterwards. I can see the water drain as I put water in. It runs at 150 or 180 for a day ( I drive the car to work and home thats really it) and the next or even sometimes when I go home after work the car heats up to 250- 280. I check the rad and its nothing in there. Do I need to stop putting water in?

It has to be going somewhere. Find where it is going. Yes it still needs water in there to keep everything cool.

you need to pressure test your cooling system so you can find your leak. if you dont have a cooling system pressure tester you can usually rent one from a parts store or take your car into your local repair shop and have this done.

definately p-test the system, and also p-test the radiator cap and make sure that the line to the overflow bottle and the bottle itself don't have problems.
if you fill up the rad and leave it overnight, does it lose coolant? what level is the overflow bottle at?
