      new guy with a truck

      Hi everyone,
I've been checking this site out for a couple of months now so I figured that I should introduce myself. I am currently working on a 1949 Chevy 5 window truck that is going to be heavily influenced by pro-touring style. This site is great!!! The cars that are shown here are amazing, keep up the great work

If you’re suggesting sending men with weapons of war to take my weapons of war, then I’m fairly certain that’s what’s called an act of war… and the definition of tyranny.which coincidentally is the reason for the second amendment to begin with!

Glad to see another hay hauler person interested in the PT slant on things (I'll be SO happy when the hydraulic/laying frame fad dies).

      Welcome.

      Welcome!....

My first 'car' was a 1951 5 window GMC pickup.... How I miss that truck! I put a '77 Camaro Front end clip. A 283 with 3 speed on the floor. Dropped and tubbed.

      Show some pictures!

Sounds right up my alley!! Definately keep us posted with pics!! I have a 54 gmc that I built when I was 15. 75 Trans Am front sub, full tube steel frame, HO 455 poncho. Heck of a lot of fun to drive, put 80,000 miles on it before I had to park it...... You can sort of see it in one of my vbgarage pics (left side light blue). If you need any parts let me know. I own five 47-54 chevy/gmc trucks and have about 2 other complete trucks in pieces. After my bird build, I am doing a full tilt custom 49 GMC suburban with a strong influence to PT.

eh, I'm doing a '47 3100. I love these trucks. Mines going together as a driver/beater rod. I'm using a '72 250 1bbl (will upgrade to offy 2x1 intake later) and a saginaw 4 spd. I got the running gear for free, so I'm gonna use em'!

I would say stay with the fuel injection and get a BW T-5 also to use behind it. Good luck and keep us updated.

BTW, are you a member of Stovebolt.com too? It's a great site for the old trucks. I'm there too.
