Scotts Hot Rods Big Red '55 pics

From what I was told this was a tough car to shoot at SEMA.

That is so clean with a perfect stance and some very subtle features.

Does anyone remember Gary Kollofski's 55 Chevy from 31 years ago?

Sorry. Not Pro-Touring. But an incredible car nevertheless. It caused quite a commotion in its day.

      Check it out:

Here's the one you found Bossa

Here's what happened to that car

      http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/s...=312897&page=3

Its in Hot Rod top 100 most influential hot rods #38. GARY KOLLOFSKI'S '55 CHEVY
Dzus-fastened sheetmetal is de rigueur today, but in 1977 it was only seen on full-tilt race cars. When Kollofski rumbled his blown, Rat-powered '55 into a show and un-Dzus'd the entire front clip off of it, it blew minds. The huge rear tires, progenitors of the Pro Street trend, were also brand-new for a street car. It graced our Dec. '77 cover. -Rob Kinnan

Big Red got me thinking, so I went on a little trip to a guy's house I know about with the intentions of buying one of his 55s. I got there and sadly I have to say he had resently passed away. I got to talking to his brother to whom the wife has put in charge of selling his cars and well all I can say is instead of one car I am now the owner of 4 55s. 1 Bel Air 2 Door Sedan, 1 One-Fifty 2 Door Utility Sedan (only 11,196 made) and 2 Two-Ten 2 Door Sedans I pick them up in two weeks. All four are project cars with straight bodys the Bel air needs a floor pan and trunk and the rest of them are in good shape.

I asked Justin from Scott's about that.

He said it is a custom mix.

Gorgeous car! Thanks for posting the pics. It'd be even more stunning with a contrasting carpet color like black but it's amazing how it pops in spite of the red carpet.
