      Can someone identify my LS1?

I have an Ls1 from either 2000 or 2001 Corvette. Is there a difference? It has the LS6 intake(pn 12561182) injector (pn12561462) head(pn 241) block(pn 12561168) and the ls6 exhaust manifolds(not sure of pn). I know it is not an LS6 as the heads are 241's. It also has a little green sticker on the back of the drivers side head that reads 10/19/000, is this the build date? Can someone tell me what year this engine is and does it matter when getting an ECM?

12561168 is an LS6 block. Are you sure it isn't a pullout from an 01 or 02 Camaro? Some of these came with LS6 blocks. You might want to check out LS1Tech.com or get one of the LS1/6 build books out there for more info.

No, definately from a corvette. It's got the corvette batwing oil pan and the corvette accessories. If it maters it was also a 6 speed car, as it had the flywheel and pressure plate.

      1. LS6 intakes didnt appear on any make LS series till 2001

      2. if the exhaust manifolds are cast iron, they are LS6 versions

      3. 1251168 is an LS6 block, not appearing till 01 ( due to limited supply of regulaer LS1 blocks, LS6 blocks were used in other platforms)

      4. 10/19/000 is a factory build date for an 01 model year vehicle

sounds like you have an 01 Vette engine..

I thought I read somewhere the ls6 block and intake were used on some 2000 vette engines? Could be wrong? Is that little green sticker an accurate date. Does anybody else have this sticker? Is the ecm programming different between the two years?
      Please help! Thanks.

first I've heard that, and I highly doubt it.

      The exhaust manifolds are cast.
