Is this Protouring?
Here's my 80 Z28 I've been working on. I had it out today and washed then drove it around a little bit. I have GEN IV vintage installed on it I just haven't put a compressor on it yet. Just went throught the drivetrain to. It has a newer vortec 350 with crane Hydrallic roller cam in it. Now I some different pulleys and acessories for the motor. I would like to update the gauges in it also.

I Guess it isn't .
11-17-2008 #3Nice car. I really like that color. Don't sweat not getting any replies. There are a ton of high-dollar cars on this site and it sometimes takes awhile to get anyones attention - especially if it's a late 2nd gen.
To answer your original question, I need some more info. It takes more than paint and wheels to make a car pro-touring. You mentioned your engine, but what about your brakes & suspension? A pro-touring car usually has some upgraded brake and suspension components - but not necessarily expensive ones (see my car).
Something as simple as a poly-bushing rebuild kit with new shocks and a larger roll bar and maybe ceramic brake pads with braided stainless brake hoses could be considered pro-touring and wouldn't cost a ton of money.__________________________

More updates on my car
I have rebuilt the front suspension with PST bushings. Have installed Hotchkis coil springs in the front Installed a Quick ratio steering box off of a ZQ8 S10. I updated the the steering shaft with borgeson ujoints. Brakes on it right now are stock I plan on going through the rear end next and installing a set of leaf springs with global west bushings and upgrading the rear sway bar. I will post a picture of the engine as soon as I finish the engine compartment I need to get an electric fan for it and get some new pulleys and acessories for the front of the engine. Then I will be done under the hood. The Interior is pretty much done it is red. The front seats I have installed are gray out of a 2000 camaro. I have a console installed out of a 93 camaro. I also plan on updating the gauges also. I also have plans on working on 68 RS and 73 build so I plan on posting on here more and getting ideas on this site.
