      Steve RUPP!!!! -- Yorba/Brea fires

Is the fire anywhere near you? Need a hand at all?

Fire is two miles away... We are packing up the non-replaceable stuff and loading it into the truck..

      Just in case.

The plan is that Jennifer takes the Sierra with all the stuff in bins in the back and all of the pets. I take Penny.. The camera is filled with pictures of our stuff in the house. Insurance is paid up.. It's funny when you look around and think "what do I take".. Oh, backed all the computers to a spare 1 terrabyte external drive I had on hand.

Although.. it would still have to burn though HUNDREDS of houses to get to ours. I watered the property and cleaned out the gutters and dampened the roof.

John Force's shop is surrounded by fire.. we might of lost our Costco. (damn)..

Close, but not scary close yet... so much for working on my car today..

I saw a guy on the news that put his garden sprinklers on the roof so he could keep it wet.

      Hang in there.

im actually an orange county fire authority firefighter and im sitting at a station about 10 miles away missing all the action. we're responsible for about 6x's our normal area right now with the huge draw down of resources.

my sources are stating 200 plus structures lost so far with no end in sight. i hope everyone is safe......

Thanks 6'9" for posting. I have been watching the news off and on and that fire looks terrible. I am in Huntington Beach and the skies from here looked menacing earlier in the day. Let's hope for the best and hopefully Mother Nature gives the fire fighters a break and the winds start to die down and stay down overnight.

Steve, good to here you, the wife, the dogs and Bad Penny are well!

I know living here in SoCal when the Santa Ana winds pick up, a wild fire has a higher chance of breaking out. In prior years, it’s the norm to hear the news reporter broadcasting the number of acres that were burnt and to hear them report the number of HOMES lost is disturbing. That fire is just moving so fast and out of control!

Porter Ranch just happened 2 weeks ago, Montecito, Sylmar and Corona/Anaheim Hill this weekend. Our fire fighters have their hands full!

Looking ok.. did a recon mission and we are two miles from the command post.. that's a pretty good cushion. As long as the wind is calm we should be fine.

Thanks for thinking of us. Made my wife smile

Steve and Jennifer ... we're hoping all stays good for you guys. And, of course, the same for the rest of our Pro-Touring (and NastyZ) extended families too. Wow!! First Montecito, then Sylmar, and now Orange County.

Dave says to get Penny moved ASAP ...

Can't believe all the fires here in CA. Keep us posted on John Force's shop as I also heard it was right in the path.
