      C6 6 piston rim options

So I'm looking at upgrading to the monster C6 caliper setup and I printed the KORE3 template to check for clearance on my wheels and no dice. These suckers have a big overhang. What kind of wheels or backspacing have you guys been able to use with these calipers? Local selection on wheels isn't too good so if I'm gonna have to order a new set of wheels, I'd rather make sure I only have to do it once. I've got a 65 Chevelle with an 18/20 wheel combo. Thanks.

It's not the backspacing that will cause the problem, it's the hub to caliper clearance. The manufacturer needs to put a thicker mounting pad to clear the spokes.

Make absolutely certain the manufacturer understands your situation. Lots of people have been burned by this issue.

^+1..... youre only going to get what you need with custom wheels. your need a large pad both front and rear and the numbers are available on kore3.com.

also, make sure you tell whoever that they arent the c6 brakes, but rather the c6 z06 brakes. the standard c6 brakes are the same as the c5, c5 z06 and c6 z51's. only the c6 z06 had the 6 piston brakes. itll make a big difference.

You'll find something, believe it or not I've test fitting my ROH snyper 17" rims on my z06 and with a 1/4" spacer they will clear, but that rim has a lot of spoke clearance.

If you look at the OE z06 rims there is an actual clearance notch in the back side of the spokes for the calipers. It's definately the clearance to the outside of the caliper that's an issue, not typically the ID of the rims. I held up my spare set of c5 vette rims and the spokes hit bad. You may find that that type of flat face rim with a spacer fits your needs, either c5 or c6 vette stuff or a rim made to fit these cars like an HRE, Cray, etc.

I have the 2007 Z51 Front brake kit and I had to use a 1/4 spacer to clear the spokes on my wheels..

I kinda figured it was gonna hafta be custom wheels or spacers, nothing really off the shelf. Well looks like some planning is in order. <G> Thanks for all the advice.

I have some 18"/19" wheels from Boze/ZE Forged and the templates seem to fit with some custom valve stems. All the C6 ZO6 parts are on the way so we will see for sure.

Thanks again for all the help Tobin!

I bought my wheels from Boze before I decided on C6 brakes and got lucky that it was part of the design.
