      Spintech vs Borla

ok guys, help me make my decision. give me the pros and cons of both please. everything from interior noise to quality. more sound clips would be awesome. youtube has a lot but they are mostly newer cars whereas i have an old school small block. thanks

no comparison on the chassis dyno, Borla wins out with engines over 500hp

there are quite a few muscle cars with spintechs on youtube actually. i did this research once before. i'm sure they are still there.

I went with Spintech Sportsman XL myself.

from what i have seen, both have great praise.
      spintech-loud/raw sound.
borlas- loud/refined in terms of race mufflers, still a little raw to me

Flash, same question. Can you hear yourself think with the spintechs while cruising or do they have really bad drone?

I myself have the spintechs. i am using a 3" round X pipe to a 3" oval (spintech) to the spintech oval sportsman. I LOVE the ground clearance and the sound is increadible. I came from a 3 in round system with flowmaster 3 chamber (huge mufflers) they had more of a drone than the spintech. When I ordered spintech there was no "KIT" so make sure you lay it out and be prepared to cut weld and repeat.

its very good...eps for just having dumps. before these i had single chamber race muffers on it and the drone between 2k -3.5k was that head pressure drone... i hated it!

I wish I could say. It's not running yet. I plan on testing first with dumps after the mufflers before the axles, but figure I will have to at least run some over-axle pipes and point out behind the rear tires, if not going all the way on the sides of the fuel tank.

I just don't dig the exhaust under the axle thing.

Spintechs for me every time. This is the new setup currently being fitted to my GTO project. Sportsman street XL's with 4" oval inlets and 3.5" oval outlets. No ground clearance for an X pipe. Oh well.

Let me see what I can do this weekend. The system is a "one piece" from the header back (goes under the axle). I was going from a flowmaster system and the car sound more aggressive with an acceptable DB level in the car. ( I can still talk to the wife with out yelling)
