      manifold question?

I,m looking for information on design info on building my own EFI intake manifold. My plan is to build a Tuneport style for a pontiac 455.I don't like the looks of TBI setups so i'll fab up my own but would like some basic design parameters.

      A. Graham Bell's books have some intake manifold guidelines. I just got the forced induction one from Amazon for $32. Good book. He has a 4-stroke one as well that might be better for you.

Also check the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) website - they have lots of links.

      Should be a cool project!

One of the computer dyno programs (I can't remember which one) has a companion book and a routine for calculating intake resonances and would be a help for you. The factory TPI manifolds were all about building low end and mid range torque with very long small runners. The superram TPI manifold shortened up the runners and made them a little larger with a bigger plenum and bumped up the rpm range a bit.

      Good luck
