      New but not new

      Hiya folks.

Been lurking on this site for quite a while. Not really one to toot my own horn so Ive not posted. But thought I might chime in now and then.

I'm in the process of building a PT 1968 Dodge Dart.

The photo below isn't my car, but this is the paint scheme I am going with.

The stuff I've had in the past was all drag related.

Welcome Grumpy. Great to have another Mopar joining the mix here. It is much harder to build a protouring Mopar than a first gen camaro, but much more rewarding IMO....lol
I am in the middle of a 72 Charger build myself is why I say this. What are the plans for the Dart? A buddy of mine bought the Poison Dart at BJ this year and it resides in my garage so if I can be of any help, be sure to ask.
Oh, first names are certainly allowed here, or maybe you prefer grums....

Grumpy is a nickname I've had for years. I was always a fan of Grumpy Jenkins and tend to be a bit "rough around the edges". Kind of a straight talker who some people tend to be turned off by. Get to know me though and you'll find I'm more like you than you initially thought.

The Dart is going to be a mild PT build. More of a cruiser. My stuff in the past has been more drag related.

I really like the poison dart car. I was jealous watching it go across the block at B/J.

      Bill,

You've been around a while, can you point me in the direction of some other Dart builds on the site. My searches are coming up pretty thin.

Datsbad (Jason Huber) has just finished a killer Demon, basically the same car, check out his site, http://www.gforcedesignconcepts.com/
Also, check out alterKtion website. While I have not used their stuff, I know some of the Mopar sites like his parts and service. I am using an XV motorsports setup with my car, but they don't offer anything for an A-body yet that I know of.

Hey, welcome to the site Grump.

Catching any grief from your Mopar buddies on cutting up an original car?

I often think it'd be fun to build a hemi-dart replica.....but with some bizarre alternative engine in it just to rile up the chalk mark resto freaks.

Like I said early, XV motorsports front suspension and their rear three link setup, although we did have to modify that a lot to fit a 72 charger. They are set up for cudas, etc.
6.4 540 hp crate mopar engine, TKO600 tranny, dana rear.
I am at the airport this morning on the way to SEMA and too lazy to type it all out, but here is a link with a full description and pictures of car and progress.
