      Quality vs Quantity

I have somewhat of a dilemma... I bought my 78 Malibu as a driver and it served me well... now it really just sits, and I cant stop coming up with things I'd like to do to it. Problem is, there are tons of stuff I'd like to do the 79 Monte. One is always getting neglected. Having automotive ADD, I've been thinking of selling the Malibu so I can focus my efforts on the Monte, and building a nicer car instead of 2 mediocre ones. Plus I really don't think I need 2 toys.. but I don't want to end up with sellers remorse. Just thinking out loud here... Whats everything think about building/owning 2 cars vs just 1?

I would rather have one nice car than two "so so" cars. After all, you can only drive one. lol

I only have two projects because of my job.

I would rather have one nice car also but i personally own 2 that I am building also. I drive my camaro more often but I also have a 62 imperial convertible that was my fathers car and it has tons of history. I could never sell either.

I think it is nice to have one to drive & one to work on – not 2 actual projects. I bought my 77 to drive around in while I worked on the 67. Getting the 77 up to a reasonable level of dependability turned it into a mini-project, but now I have a nice driver as I begin to get my fingers dirty on the 67 project. We were going to do power tour next year, which gave me a new list of small projects for the 77, but it looks like the job owns me all June 09, so I don’t know anymore….but once those projects are done the 77 is ‘done’ for now (unless things break). As long as I ‘control the urges’, lol.

I just want to be able to cruise in something. A nice ride is good for my soul. And I don’t want to rush the 67 and not build what I want.

Yep..the drivers turn into projects all their own. Right now my Malibu is up to driver snuf, except for the factory AM radio. Once I get a bitchin system in there it'll be a solid cruiser. Then I'm drawing the line - No More!! If I can resist the urge to modify it any further, I'll keep it.

There aren't really tracks around here that I know of, but that was sort of the plan, to make each one have their own distinctions. The Monte being the 'Joe/Show-Touring' with adding a Magnacharger to the GMPP crate, it'll just be a blast to cruise to shows and take short trips. The Malibu being more along the 'Pro-Touring' lines, with an LSX swap, heat and a/c, it'll be a little different animal, a higher end touring build with more of a sinister look. Bottom line is I just need to establish a clear vision and be more disciplined with focusing on the Monte and letting the Malibu sit idle.
