      Angel Update.
Well not much done but its been a long exhausting weekend.
Managed to get the deck lid lined up finally, and was able to scuff it down.
Was not ready to shoot any primer this weekend as its been cloudy, overcast and cool.
Once I got the trunk lined up, I pulled it back off, removed the spoiler, reset the lid and
scuffed. All I got to do now is git it in primer. Moved up to the front section of the car
today and got 90% of the screw up (dont ask) taken off down to bare metal again.
I got a little more cleanin to do on the fender sides. Once I get all that ol paint off
I am going to pull the valance panel and header panel again to clean those two parts up.
Hopefully if I don't get any time in out it during the week, Ill be able to spend a few
hours on it thurs after I stuff my gut with turkey of course! Gobble Gobble!

      Angel Update:
Well the Texas weather started off warm around 12pm. Id guess it was around 70 degrees when
I started to primer the body panels. By the time I got done the temperature had dropped to
56 degrees. Thats how it is in Texas. If you don't like the weather, wait a minute and it
      will change.

      Angel Update:
Got the front fenders blocked again. Next week I will try and reprimer the front fenders,
valance and header and rear tail and trunk lid. On sunday I should be able to take 400 grit
to the fenders, header, valance, roof qtrs, and tail panel. Need to work a little more
getting the alignment on the valance panel if ill be dammed if after all the bolt holes on
the driver side do not line up perfectly. They are off about an 1/8 to 1/4 inch. Needless to
say, I dont have anyway of moving the holes around one way or another, so it will have to
do. I still need to put in new front end hardware, bolts and bushings. I am leaving the
whole front end installed loosely that way when I go to break all the parts back down after
paint I wont have to worry too much about breaking the paint seal on the gaps, it will
alreay be loose and will give me an area in between the gaps to get a good paint coverage.
The trunk lid as a small shallow spot about the size of the end of your thumb I will need to
fill. Block all the rocker areas with 400. I am about 98% there. I could paint it now
probably other than the shallow spot on the trunk lid. Ill probably spend at least one more
week after next weekend, trying to go over everything and look for sore spots, or spots that
need more attention. Other than that, she is ready to be blue as far as im concerned.

Nice work, especially for someone working in their driveway. Where are you going to paint it?

      Thanks Don!

I am either going to rent a spray both, or assemble me some sort of structure overhead when I get ready to paint.

May have to borrow someone's Garage! Is yours available??

Looks like your neighbor next door has a e-z up frame sitting next to the house. Borrow it and tarp it up. Portable paint booth! He'd probably give it to you so he doesn't get overspray on his truck! LOL

      Angel Update:
      So close but so far!
      11 Days to go!
I lack a few spots at least that I know of.
The drip rail is slightly bent on the driver side, that I need to straighten,
the rockers need a tad bit of more work.
The roof needs to be gone over again with 400 grit, and I need to go over the parts I
      painted today with 400 grit.
And there is a small spot on the trunk that needs a tad bit of fill where I have grinding
marks from shaving down a high spot.
Other than that it's pretty much ready to spray.
Its going to be colder than a witche's Tittie in Montanna tommorrow.
No luck in doing it tomorrow.
I am so tempted to run down to the paint store pick up the paint and spray today,
but im afraid Ill regret it. Still could pull the fenders and valance in too.
      AHH the temptation!

      Latest Update

I got started on the cutting.
Started out on 1000 grit using both my durablock and this new kind of hook and loop block
and pep boys. Using the durablock to get the heavier stuff off, and the new block to get the
lighter easier peel. Going along pretty good being the rear qtrs are the roughest parts on
the whole car. The doors and roof will go a lot quicker. The passenger qtr took me pretty
much the remainder of the day as the peel was pretty bad, and the sections of run.
I got all the run out without having to use the razor blade.
Can't wait to make it all the way around the car, and use the 1500 and 2500.
      Ill post as I can.

Can you reuse your OE glass and perhaps your OE steering gear? What if we can maybe find you some take off parts for the glass from one of the shops and maybe a fast ratio steering gear from a late-model Camaro?

      True...
      Where did you go?
      I never thought about that.
There are bound to a lot of glass out there that is not going to be used, IE car totaled out ect.
If anyone has a stock pile of it, please send me a pm as I could use the glass. I do have some parts that maybe I can swap for stuff as well, not a whole lot, but some.
As far as the fast ratio steering gear from like a 3rd gin, it would work about the same would it not? How about installation of it?
Let me know if you have me covered, this is great news!
See! There are people that do care!
I explained to True, that right now the 68 is about the only thing left I have to hang on to right now. It is really the only thing that I truly own that I can call my own right now. People DO care. woot.

Its a reflection of other material
Its a long story, but the clear coat is fine.

I just wanted to comment on something.
I have gotten quite a few responses on the "Other Thread" that was closed earlier today forwhatever reason the thread was closed. I just wanted to let each and everyone of you that do seem to be genually (speller) concerned
that I am grateful, and I think you know who you are.
I don't wish to high jack this thread by getting on the (other topic)
but it seems that a few of you that do have family are concerned that my priority should first be family. Understood. But its just Me,
Mystic Angel, (The car) and a girlfriend here. O yea! I forgot I have a dog! LOL...
Now back to the project and task at hand....
Updates this weekend w/ more pics.
